This is an exceptional opportunity to join a seasoned team led by industry veterans. The Coordinator role provides an opportunity to gain exposure and experience within the fast growing area of affiliate marketing called commerce content with an emphasis on mentorship by your manager. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Business Development and is eligible for remote work in the states listed below.

About the position

Each month Wirecutter helps millions of people by exhaustively researching and testing products in dozens of categories to select the very best among them for our readers. Our model is unique and incredibly powerful, and the trust we earn from our readers is core to our success.

As the Commerce Operations Coordinator, you will support the Business Development and Partnerships team by helping to ensure we keep our guides up to date with the best buying options possible for our readers. This role requires a self-starter with excellent time management skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and comfort working in a collaborative team environment in a remote setting.

This role reports to the Senior Manager of Business Development.


  • Article performance monitoring

    • Monitor high-trafficked guides and ensure ample inventory of picks

    • Manage and maintain a changelog of updates

  • Inventory management:

    • Monitor stock issues and pricing updates

    • Research stock and availability of products, reach out to partners as needed for inventory updates, and manage internal databases

  • Optimization

    • Merchant audits: Assess merchants’ product assortment for overlap with Wirecutter Picks and provide guidance to BD leads on size of opportunity

    • Assist with auditing guides for optimization opportunities

  • Link operations

    • Build affiliate links to be used on Wirecutter.com and off-platform initiatives


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and in person.

  • An eagerness to work in entrepreneurial and cross-functional environments and collaborate cross-functionally

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience (experience in affiliate marketing a plus but not required)

  • An appreciation for The New York Times’s and Wirecutter’s mission and a commitment to be a part of the company’s innovation and growth.
