Overview

The position

We are looking for a Director of Commercial Strategy to join our team. You’ll design and execute on partnership strategies with the goal to contribute to the strategic product and service offering of the company, unblock sales and drive customer conversion.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with both our Sales, Product and Global Operations teams, identify gaps in our product offering or build new product lines through partnerships with international business service providers, law firms, accountants, immigration firms, insurance firms, payroll companies and other business partners. You will own both the strategy and the execution;
  • Define our ideal partner profile, conduct in-depth market research, and establish key metrics and parameters for partner selection and prioritisation;
  • Leverage industry contacts for strategic intelligence and assess the viability of potential business partnerships;
  • Develop and present business cases in support of partnership proposals;
  • Lead diligence and develop deal structures, negotiate terms, plan integration, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders on bringing to market partnership-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • You excel at bringing structure to quantitative and qualitative insights;
  • You are eager to have a high degree of ownership to help frame and influence Remote’s strategic decisions;
  • You are resourceful and when you need to get something done you unleash superior research, sleuthing and execution skills;
  • You have a proven track record for working well across teams and with external partners to solve hard problems;
  • You understand markets, competition, and how to leverage core competencies to create defensible strategies;
  • You have a passion for technology and an understanding of software and business technology markets, trends, and dynamics;
  • You have 5-10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investing, or a comparable role in the payroll, fintech or payments space.
