Quick take: Axios is a growth-stage startup dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We’re hiring a Director of Events, Client Partnerships to manage day to day client relationships and deliverables and ensure we remain true to our editorial standards while also working alongside sponsors for their defined sponsor integrations. Ultimately, the goal of each event is to bring our editorial content to life for our audiences across the country.

Why it Matters: Axios events are typically sponsored and client management is essential to ensure a successful event. We need a strong Director to oversee all client relationships and deliverables for up to 4 events per week, brainstorm creative concepts to bring our events to life as well as potential ways to engage our Brand studio or other departments within Axios, provide direction to junior team members, serve as a liaison with events vendors, and create and implement assigned elements of events.

Go Deeper: This role has relationship-management and operational responsibilities and will often manage multiple, concurrent events while moving at a fast pace. You will work cross-collaboratively with sales and editorial team members at Axios and will serve as an ambassador to Axios and the events team during client interactions.

The Details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills:

  • 5+ years of high volume, fast-paced events experience
  • Proven track record of client/relationship management experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A strong eye for design and creative vision
  • Proficiency in Powerpoint, Indesign, Photoshop
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
  • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in high-pressure environment
  • Desire to work hard, learn new skills and grow professionally
  • Willingness to work early mornings and late nights
  • Project management software experience is a plus (i.e. Wrike)
