About the Job

The Finance and Treasury Operations Manager will be a key part of the finance team and work closely with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and FP&A group to manage accounting and treasury operations for a high-growth multinational organization. Reporting to the Controller, the Finance and Treasury Operations Manager will play a key role in managing banking relationships; analyzing processing fee trends and optimizing usage of payment solutions; building out and managing payment and funding flows with the parent organization; and performing ad hoc financial and accounting analysis and projects to help improve gross margin and other key financial metrics. This role will also be decision-maker and play an important role with regards to system implementations and transformation (e.g. payables management, treasury management, and the corporate credit card program, among others). Design, implementation, and execution of internal controls will be expected as part of this role. We are looking for someone who can be a critical and valued business partner for FP&A, the general ledger team, and other cross-functional teams and groups across the organization. This will be accomplished through identifying business needs for growth and scalability, looking for opportunities to streamline and create efficiencies, and responding to the needs of internal operational partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of the company’s banking and treasury relationships, including the migration of existing banking relationships to the parent company’s preferred banking partners.
  • Build out and take ownership of cash forecasting, operational flow of funds, and structural enhancements to the banking and treasury relationship with the parent company.
  • Proactively identify issues and areas for improvement within the finance and accounting department and implement process improvements. Work with other departments in the company to implement collaborative cross-functional improvements.
  • Assist the general ledger team with info required for the recording of cash and the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, and provide recommendations for improvements to the cash recording and reconciliation process.
  • Assist in strategic design and management of the company’s foreign currency structure and needs.
  • Monitor payment processing and acceptance trends and metrics and provide recommendations as to best practices and structure for payment acceptance.
  • Assist in reviewing and reconciling revenue transactions and related cash impacts.
  • Design and implement more formal processes for recording, reconciling, and reporting on partnership revenue streams.
  • Develop financial policies and procedures for operational efficiency.
  • Lead or assist with any special projects as needed. This could potentially include assessment/recommendation/implementation of a new payables solution, cash management solutions, procurement management tools, and workflow automation solutions, among others.
  • Review current accounting processes put in place to appropriately capture and record tax-related balances (e.g. sales tax, VAT, use tax, etc.) on revenue and expense transactions and work with internal and external tax professionals to make improvements as needed.
  • Assist with developing and improving accounting/finance operational and treasury policies and processes as the business evolves.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or finance
  • 4-5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or industry experience
  • CPA license or MBA preferred
  • Experience with multinational corporations and foreign currencies strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and FASB codification and pronouncements, including complex revenue recognition and internal control framework development
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience working with NetSuite is a plus
  • Self-starter who can creatively solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to teach and train others
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment working for an organization undergoing a high degree of growth, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about p2p markets
