As a Kubernetes Engineer, you are responsible for architects, building, deploying and maintaining K8s infrastructure and related management solutions on behalf of Smile CDR to deliver high-quality availability workloads on the cloud via Kubernetes infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with technical managers and engineering teams to architect, build and maintain infrastructure on Kubernetes and Openshift platforms.
  • Create and maintain K8s-related documentation on platform implementation and maintenance procedures.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and IaC templates for K8s deployment, including Helm Charts and Deployment YAMLs.
  • Provide Level 3 support for K8s infrastructure and act as a Subject Matter Expert for customers implementing the core product in Kubernetes and Openshift ecosystems and implementations.
  • Drive implementations for more robust DevOps practices around the organization.
  • Lead engagements and train teams to deploy on Kubernetes platforms.
  • Research and develop more effective ways to continuously deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure via cloud-native and third-party technology.
  • Design and implement controls for more secure Kubernetes workloads.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator/ DevOps Engineer/ Cloud Engineer working with cloud infrastructure combined with post-secondary studies in Computer Science, Networking and IT Security or related fields.
  • 5 + years of experience working with Docker containers.
  • 3 + years of experience with HELM, Kops and developing K8s Deployments YAMLs
  • 2 + years experience with OpenShift.
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining public cloud Kubernetes services, including ROSA, EKS, AKS or GKE.
  • Experience with Kubernetes monitoring and logging with hands-on expertise in Prometheus.
  • Experience creating Kubernetes Operators.
  • Experience troubleshooting all components of a Kubernetes infrastructure, including ingress, deployments, networking and storage.
  • Experience building and maintaining at least 1 self-managed cluster from scratch.
  • Recognized Kubernetes Certification (CKA/ CKAD) is preferred.
  • Experience building K8s infrastructure from scratch using a myriad of technologies, including Kops and Terraform.
