We’ve also been recognized as Nerdwallet’s Best Real Estate Investment Platform of 2021.We’re seeking a Manager to help oversee Property Accounting Operations at Fundrise. A successful candidate will have exceptional process improvement capabilities, be attentive to detail, and have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

    • Assist in build out of internal property accounting processes for directly owned real estate assets in multiple asset classes, with a concentration of commercial office assets in various development and operational phases
    • Act as main point of contact for third party property management and accounting groups, including overseeing the onboarding of external property management groups and ensuring ongoing compliance with reporting requirements
    • Oversee review of monthly property financials and manage monthly close for assigned portfolio of projects
    • Manage lender reporting and compliance calculations for directly owned real estate assets, if applicable
    • Manage bank account set up process for newly acquired assets
    • Assist with JV and property audits Assist with implementation of additional modules within accounting system and other ERP initiatives as applicable

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
    • 5 years of total experience related to real estate accounting
    • 2 years experience of operational accounting with a focus on commercial office, industrial or retail assets
    • Demonstrated success in managerial oversight of at least 1-2 individuals
    • Strong experience in GAAP accounting, including experience calculating straight-line rent and maintaining fixed assets and depreciation in accordance with internal capitalization policies
    • Demonstrated success in process management

Preferred Qualifications

    • CPA
    • Experience using MRI
    • Exposure to diverse asset classes including retail, office, industrial, and multi-family

We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help with designing and building out investment and payment processing features on our Investment Platform. In this role, you’ll play a key part in building out our top product priorities through designing scalable systems, managing the implementation across a team of engineers, meeting high standards for quality, and helping to deploy and observe your software in use. You’ll also work closely with key stakeholders across our product, investor relations, accounting, and legal teams, as well as third-party service providers to ensure we are delivering the best value to our investors.

Responsibilities

    • Build, scale, and improve software systems for a rapidly-growing fintech investment platform
    • Take full ownership of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, participating in design and architecture decisions, implementing new systems and features, testing, deploying, and resolving issues that arise in production
    • Maintain and monitor systems deployed on AWS
    • Review pull requests and participate in code reviews to ensure software quality
    • Collaborate with teams outside of engineering to deliver, assess, and iterate on our solution
    • Contribute to infrastructure development, integrations with AWS services

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
    • 8 years of experience working in Java
    • 6 years of experience working with the Spring and Hibernate/ORM frameworks
    • 3 years of experience with SQL and RDBMS where transactions and throughput were critical to operations
    • 3 years of experience with Cloud Computing platforms
    • Demonstrated track record of effective communication and coordination with business stakeholders
    • Ability to absorb and understand large and complex new domains and workflows quickly

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience making significant contributions to scalable architecture projects or refactors
    • Experience with cloud-native architecture and application development
    • Experience refactoring monolithic applications to microservices, APIs, and/or serverless models
    • Experience taking a software project from inception to launch
