We’re looking for a Product Manager to manage the long-term sustainability and infrastructure of one of our restaurant points of sale. In this role, you will identify, prioritize, and execute on a roadmap designed to maintain product market fit and ensure a great experience for new and existing customers.

In order to anticipate the needs of customers and of the platform in a rapidly changing hospitality landscape, you’ll work closely with other product managers, leaders in customer support and quality management, development managers, and key customers to inform your roadmap. You’ll continually monitor customer feedback, customer escalations, and platform performance to iteratively and flexibly respond to new challenges as they arise, always with an eye towards sustainable and automated solutions.

Through this work, you will have a direct and tangible impact on our customers’ success. Restaurants rely on their point of sale and technology partner to help them drive revenue through the product’s ease of use and reliability. As such, key success metrics for this role include customer NPS score, downtime percent, and triage backlog. The Lightspeed Hospitality team values.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Immerse yourself in the product to build a deep understanding of its history, technology, key decisions, and major challenges. Build strong relationships with existing stakeholders across product, support, and QA.
  • Identify major themes among customer escalations, triage, and incidents and create a platform squad roadmap driven by smart solutioning and thoughtful prioritization.
  • Work alongside the engineering team to define scope, requirements, and success metrics for roadmap initiatives. Routinely report on those success metrics.
  • Along with the development manager, motivate and lead a team of engineers committed to the squad mission of ensuring the scalability, performance, and reliability of the point of sale and associated services.
  • Develop a strong practice of documentation and evangelize the importance of teamwork, redundancy, and knowledge preservation.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators throughout the development, release, and review process.
  • Document, communicate, and review setbacks with stakeholders; similarly, document, communicate, and celebrate wins.

What you need to bring:

  • A passion for creating wonderful products and the vision and management skills to do so.
  • Demonstrated success as a Product Manager, with ample experience breaking large software development projects into digestible stories and leading a squad of developers to successful completion. As an experienced PM, you know that your ability to scope the project and write requirements has a huge impact on the time to completion and quality of resulting work. You have excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • A deep understanding of software development and the software development lifecycle.
  • The ability to understand our strategic product and business objectives and translate them into a clearly defined roadmap within the squad’s focus.
  • A passion for tackling problems, both independently and as the leader of a team with shared goals. You can easily juggle multiple constraints and simplify complex problems.
  • Enthusiasm for enabling effective communication and collaboration asynchronously – you’re always taking proactive steps to help your team stay in sync and engaged with each other and other teams. Your colleagues appreciate your talent for coordination.
  • A desire to proactively manage the team and understand each individual’s journey and needs.
  • The ability to either start from a blank page or rescue a project to steer it in the right direction, each with the same enthusiasm and result.
  • Fluent in English and Russian, excellent English speaking and writing skills.
