RStudio creates great software that helps people understand data and make better decisions in real-world applications. Our core offering is an open source data science toolchain, and we aim to make it available to everyone, regardless of their economic means.

The mlverse team is focused on building human-centered, R native interfaces to deep learning and distributed computing technologies such as Spark, Tensorflow, Keras, and Torch. The packages we build are employed by the community for both individual and corporate wide use.

What you’ll be doing:

In this position, you would join a small, globally distributed team that is maintaining and extending the TensorFlow/Keras ecosystem to ensure that relevant cutting-edge innovations are made available to the community.

About you:

You are customer-focused and are driven by our mission to facilitate science and education for everyone. You share our commitment to building great software, and you have an appreciation for clean code that is easy to understand. You care about user experience and love to help others succeed. You also have:

  • Substantial experience developing software in one or more of R, Python, or C++.
  • Experience shipping professional software, such as CRAN packages.
  • The desire to acquire any missing but required language skills on-the-job (especially, an excellent knowledge of R, in case your background is in different languages).
  • Experience in deep learning and machine learning.
  • Persistence and high motivation to solve challenging problems.
