We reach nearly 900M people around the world, bringing them closer to what they love—from finance and sports, to shopping, gaming and news—with the trusted products, content and tech that fuel their day. About the Team
The Consumer Research team develops the Content Analysis Platform (CAP). CAP is both a platform and a component of other large-scale infrastructure platforms in multiple Yahoo properties and applications, providing text classification by topic and content quality/risk level, and text extraction such as key phrases and automatic summarization. Development work on CAP has an impact on the quality of a variety of internal systems at Yahoo including the Yahoo Home Page, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Search, advertising systems, and others.
A Lot About you
As a software engineer member of the CAP engineering team, you will be working on projects of diverse scope and complexity. You will design, build, implement, modify, test, debug and deploy software systems, large-scale infrastructure platforms, and network services that are the foundation of multiple Yahoo! properties and applications. You will own, improve, and scale content acquisition and data processing workflows which bring tens of millions of web pages to Yahoo each day. Develop richer signals for the core algorithms, models, and recommendation platforms which enable deeper experiences to further engage Yahoo users. Coordinate with internal customer teams to understand future requirements around content and services. You will drive the roadmap for the next-generation content pipelines which continually improve operability, scalability, efficiency, performance, and reliability of the workflows and pipeline.
