In this role, you lead a highly talented and motivated “Core Services” team of 8 professionals. The team, and you, will innovate, build, and enhance enterprise software features that our product lines rely upon. You are the catalyst growing the capabilities of the team through coaching, mentoring and direct feedback. You are doing this using tools such as 1.1s, coaching sessions, code reviews, leading or participating in architecture reviews. We are an Agile shop big on continuous improvement and you run sprint planning, stand-ups, retros & postmortem ceremonies. As the company grows, the team’s capabilities and responsibilities grow, and you help attract top talent by working closely with the recruiting team.
During your 5+ years of IC engineering journey you have gained experience to build a service-oriented architecture that powered internal and external products. During that time, you worked with at least some of our stack (Ruby on Rails, GO, React.Js, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker) building back end services, APIs & scaling solutions. You might have picked up proficiency in a few different languages (Java, Scala, Python or the others) and programming styles (functional, object-oriented, script/procedural or big data).
These past 2 years or so, you can be found leading, coaching, mentoring, performance monitoring, managing scope, reviewing code, making architectural & technical decisions to drive the SDLC. You lead from within and understand that coaching and mentoring is almost always better than “managing” (but you know how and when to do that too).
Colorado applicants: This role pays $163,000 – $189,000 annually plus equity in the company (pay for other locations may vary).
