About the Job

TaskRabbit is looking for a talented engineering manager to help lead the next phase of TaskRabbit’s growth. As the Engineering Manager for the Marketplace Infrastructure, you will manage a team of engineers and be responsible for the client architecture that powers the end to end experience for users in our two-sided managed marketplace across web and mobile. You will be responsible for the foundation that enables engineering velocity and quality across the product engineering organization. You will partner with Product and Engineering leadership to balance priorities for rapid growth and longer term sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Attract, build and manage a team of talented engineers to build the technical foundation to enable engineering velocity and quality to deliver an amazing experience for users in a two-sided Managed Marketplace
  • Ensure your team is effective, healthy and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals.
  • Implement best practices to continuously improve accuracy of scope estimations, engineering velocity and code quality.
  • Articulate technical plans and challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactively communicate progress and blockers to partners in Product, Design, Data, and other Engineering teams.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with other engineering teams on technical initiatives and dependencies.

Qualifications:

  • You’re an experienced manager with a track record of hiring and developing a team of talented and productive engineers
  • You understand the architectural requirements and development processes to build consumer products at scale.
  • You are able to balance business needs with longer term improvements and technical investments for sustained growth
  • You can clearly define success metrics for your team, and align and motivate your team to deliver against these metrics
  • You have a strong bias for execution and ensure that all teams are consistently shipping product and delivering customer value
  • You have ambitious goals but take a pragmatic approach to reaching them
  • Bonus points for prior experience working with 2 sides marketplaces
