What We’re Looking For:

The edX sales team continues to grow and we are looking for another self-motivated account executive to join our team. If you are looking for a sales position that is a little different than the others…this is it! Leverage your brain power while you sell into Fortune 2000 companies that are looking for quality alternatives to educating their workforce. This is a multi-billion dollar industry that is ripe for disruption and edX has the ideal product. Time to apply your consultative selling skills to a market hungry for an improvement in continuing education and employee reskilling.

In this role you will work independently to identify, negotiate, and close the sale of bulk access to the edX online education platform.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Actively contact prospects, both new and assigned to build a pipeline of business opportunities.
  • Independently create custom course bundles from our catalog of over 1500 courses relative to customer criteria for skill level, timing against course availability, and budget.
  • Craft appropriate skills pathways with different mixes of courses.
  • Independently manage all aspects of each account including regular communication and onsite visits as needed.
  • For Outbound Sales, specifically – Independently develop and sell bulk enrollment codes in edX courses to large global prospects
  • For Inbound Sales, specifically – Independently close new opportunities provided to you from inbound leads and grow the accounts. Handle them quickly and efficiently to minimize aging. Active follow up and triage required.
  • Use Salesforce to record all activity
  • Detail oriented, a good listener, and have good fact finding skills to uncover and understand prospect’s learning needs at a granular level
  • Able to clearly promote and evangelize edX while attending key industry events and conferences to build the brand and develop new prospects

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • 5+ years of experience in related Sales with demonstrated ability to understand product inventory, develop new client relationships, create and negotiate compelling deals, and close contracts. Track record of annual sales over $500K+ preferred. Experience with LMS, ERP, middleware, content, learning and training content or platform sales a huge plus.Experience independently negotiating ‘winning deals’, ability to write and design terms for management approval. Good consensus building and communication skills, for both customer facing and internal edX audiences, to create, promote and ‘sell’ special deals on their merits.
  • Demonstrated success in a Sales role where you were directly responsible for identifying, negotiating, and contracting with prospects, clients, and channel partners.
  • Experience working with and presenting to senior level executive prospects in business, government, technology, or education.

In Colorado, the anticipated base salary for this role is $85,000 with commission eligibility. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.

ive is responsible for owning all aspects of the sales cycle including prospecting new organizations, completing needs analyses and proposing suitable solutions. They are required to implement a balanced approach of new business development and account management activities that involves a high outreach strategy, establishing great relationships, and implementing account specific strategies that meet the needs of their prospective client. This role reports to the Director, Enterprise Sales and collaborates with the wider enterprise sales team to achieve their revenue goals.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Achieve an annual sales quota
  • Achieve deal sizes of up to $150,000
  • Developing a client base of 30 to 60 client accounts through a customer contact strategy that includes regular virtual interaction (face to face depending on Covid regulations), creating multiple contact points in each corporate account, and personal relationship building with these contacts
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities by continuously researching and prospecting new business opportunities through cold calling, and alternative reach out methods
  • Maximizing the contribution to overall company performance, by generating recurring revenue from these corporate customers
  • Continuously researching and prospecting new business opportunities through cold calling, and alternative reach out methods
  • Pitching and presenting 2U’s product offerings to new business opportunities and existing clients
  • Supported by the Director, Enterprise Sales, completing regular needs analyses, formulating proposals, detailing costing, and negotiating payment terms with organizations

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • 3 – 4 Year Marketing or Sales related qualification
  • 3 – 4 Years business development or account management experience in a B2B environment – preferably SAAS technologies; IT; or online education
  • Experience dealing with, and successfully, influencing high level/C-suite executives
