Overview

This role reports to the Director of Research in San Francisco, CA. You can be anywhere in the U.S. and work remotely for this role with a requirement to meet in person with research team 2-3 times per year.

What You Will Be Doing

Manage and prioritize research requests for commerce team starting with synthesizing all existing research and customer interviews
Identify research needs in collaboration with design and product and strategy teams
Lead research projects, from sizing/scoping to recruiting to executing research methods to analysis to presentation/communication
Track and plan research throughout design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validation
Use a variety of communication tools to share research with the broader organization (posters, workshops, theater, blog posts, short videos, and other communication tools)
Coach and mentor designers, promoting research processes and tools and best practices
Work with the directly responsible team to impact product with research findings and insights

Basic Qualifications:

4+ years of research experience with web products
Empathy for understanding a wide variety of people and their experiences, and curious about the complexity of decision making
Ability to prioritize and scope multiple research requests, aligning with team’s goals
Knowledge of a wide variety of formative, evaluative, qualitative and quantitative research methods
Strong communication delivery, both written and verbal, for audiences from individual contributors to executives
Excellent collaboration skills across different stakeholders, including design and product and engineering.
Experience using different research and recruiting and incentive tools
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment while balancing project needs
Able to travel to visit customers 1-2 weeks per quarter

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the construction industry
Experience working with

– Multiple data sources (customer feedback, market research, survey data, analytics, competitive landscape)
