The Product Designer will be a part of a well-funded, fully remote, growth-stage company helping shape the way that software is bought and sold in the Cloud Marketplaces (AWS, GCP, Azure and Red Hat). The Lead Product Designer, Design System, will own and evolve Tackle’s product design system, including our Figma components library. You’ll work closely with UX design and engineering teams to create flexible and extensible components, using atomic design methods. In this lead role, you will also establish the shared workflow and processes to build and maintain the design system and assure ease of use and clear documentation for designers and engineers.

In This Role You Will:

    • Take an active leadership role to plan and evolve Tackle’s design system, alongside UX designers and engineers. Create a design system roadmap for the team that balances current and future product needs. Break down work into prioritized backlogs.
    • Maintain, organize, and grow a highly usable design system, including building Figma components and collaborating with engineers on design tokens and implementation. You are hands-on.
    • Write documentation and guidance on how to apply components and styles in code and design. Assure alignment on naming conventions.
    • Ensure accessibility, based on the latest WCAG AA standards
    • Collaborate with UX designers to assure our components are intuitive and support product workflow well.
    • Be technically-minded: you understand and continuously learn how code works to support a design system, though you do not necessarily write code.
    • Enforce design consistency and coherence across products, not just at the feature level. Be a systems thinker.
    • Be both a champion of your craft and willing to guide other designers, as needed.
    • Embrace a culture of respect, inclusion, collaboration, and transparency.

You Should Have:

    • 6+ years of design systems or product design experience for enterprise products (B2B), including a lead role where you guided the work of others
    • High expertise using Figma, especially to create easy-to-use, shared components
    • Demonstrated experience creating responsive design patterns and design systems that employ UX best practices and atomic design principles
    • Experience using Jira or similar systems to define and prioritize work
    • A portfolio of strong interaction design, design systems, and product design work. Please include access to your portfolio when applying, or we cannot consider you.
    • Ability to sketch/draw to quickly share ideas. Bonus: skills in data visualization and how to support this through a design system
    • Experience enforcing WCAG accessibility standards for software
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. You build strong relationships across the organization.
