The Manager, Enterprise Scientific Liaisons leads a team of Enterprise Scientific Liaisons who support BenchSci’s pharmaceutical and biotech clients. You will report to the Director of Scientific Services and Support. You are an experienced people and thought leader with deep scientific expertise, who can steer a motivated team in a dynamic environment.

You Will:

    • Become a subject matter expert of BenchSci technology and use your knowledge to communicate value to industry scientists and key account stakeholders, including executive leadership
    • Build trusted relationships with users to understand the impact BenchSci has had on their research
    • Develop an understanding of your customer’s therapeutic, functional research and organizational landscape, using your scientific lense to contribute to account growth strategy
    • Guide new product launches with customers by answering scientific, product questions, and providing 1:1 consultative insight sessions to lead impact on their research projects
    • Be a voice of the customer: collaborate internally at BenchSci to help improve product functionality, communicating challenges and suggesting optimizations and new ideas to address the needs of your customers
    • Occasionally represent BenchSci at relevant conferences, trade shows and networking events
    • Stay up-to-date on new scientific and technology trends
    • Work with leadership to translate corporate goals into priorities and tactical execution plans for your team
    • Directly manage a team of up to 8 scientists by allocating resources, and managing individual and group performance. This includes performing formal employee performance reviews and career growth discussions
    • Provide mentoring to team members concerning craft knowledge
    • Help with new employee onboarding within the Scientific Liaison team
    • Assist in reporting to BenchSci leadership on key account activities
    • Team representation in other internal projects

You Have:

    • A Ph.D. in Biology, Life Sciences or a related field
    • 5+ years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry in a customer-facing role
    • 3 + years of experience managing motivated teams of scientists
    • Experience working as a field application scientist or technical specialist
    • Experience working consultatively with pharmaceutical customers in-person driving impact and long-term value
    • The ability to navigate customer landscapes and build relationships at all levels of the scientific and operational teams
    • Ability to translate and infuse functional and technology capabilities into scientific discussion
    • Ability to learn from and adapt to an ever-evolving product
    • Comfortable spending time with clients and presenting in front of audiences of varying sizes and tenure, both in-person and remotely
    • A team player able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
    • An experience with making a real impact through your work within the life sciences industry
    • A valid passport and driver’s license, and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including internationally (depending on location)
    • [Bonus] Experience in the pre-clinical R&D sectors of oncology, immunology, rare diseases, cardio-metabolic diseases, GI, or related therapeutic areas.
