Marketing Intern – U.S. Remote or Lincoln, NE

​​Inspired by Opendorse’s vision to help every athlete, we are excited to support driven and energetic Marketing Interns with extraordinary, in-person and/or remote learning opportunities next semester. Building upon our longstanding educational programs, which have helped develop exceptional leaders in the sports business and tech industries, Opendorse is excited to host three Marketing Interns for the Spring Semester, seeking outstanding individuals interested in the following areas: Social Media/ContentSport Management/Education and Communications/Public Relations.

Opendorse’s Marketing Department is a highly collaborative and integrated team, and each Marketing Intern will learn and grow in all areas of business operations. Each Opendorse Marketing Intern will complete two major projects under the direction and guidance of department leadership as they play a role in leading and supporting various daily functions. The ideal candidates will be good teammates who are proactive, hardworking and coachable. This role is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing startup that has a vibrant culture and strong brand.

Core Function & Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage and participate in Opendorse team meetings, within the Marketing Department and with other groups
  • Learn and communicate Opendorse’s brand story, as well as the current name, image and likeness (NIL) landscape
  • Provide support for Opendorse Ready™, the industry-leading student-athlete NIL education platform
  • Contribute content across all Opendorse channels, including by not limited to social media, editorial, graphic design and more
  • Support the development and execution of Opendorse’s brand marketing, product marketing and communications plans
  • Plan and complete one Independent Learning Project focused on student-athlete issues, NIL education and developments, SaaS industry news or other areas of interest
  • Plan and complete one Guided Learning Project focused on student-athlete issues, NIL education and developments, SaaS industry news or other areas of interest

Who you are:

  • Must be interested and/or pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, sports management or a related field
  • Must be able to work 10 hours per week for 12 weeks. At the end of each internship, next steps will be discussed, including a conversation about the prospect of extending the opportunity.
  • Must be willing to work hard, learn and collaborate with others
  • Interns must have their own computer or mobile device, as well as stable Internet connection, for remote correspondence.
  • Opendorse understands the demands of intercollegiate athletics and we are excited to work together to determine a flexible schedule that works for current student-athletes.
  • Juniors, seniors and graduate students preferred

  • Follow and refine your passions, learning new skills in sports business and software as a service
  • Gain a full understanding of a cross-functional business operation
  • Develop leadership, demonstrate excellent performance and gain confidence in a professional environment
  • Understand Opendorse’s story and the current NIL landscape
  • Network and connect with leading industry professionals, inside and outside Opendorse
  • Earn course credit (when applicable)
