THE OPPORTUNITY:

At Salesloft, our Principal Deal Desk Consultant is pivotal to our company’s success. You will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing Revenue Operations Team reporting to the Global Director of the Deal Desk team. The Principal Deal Desk Consultant will align to the Enterprise segment of our Sales organization and will partner with finance, and legal to enable efficient deal execution, and optimize revenue growth and bookings within the Enterprise segment while delivering commercial outcomes that mitigate risk.  This role will include interfacing with senior sales management and working closely with account executives to craft ideal solutions for clients.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for optimizing Salesloft’s Enterprise deal flow and maximizing deal revenue. Specifically, you will:

  • Facilitate structuring and execution of transactions while optimizing for customer experience, revenue potential, profitability, compliance, and effectively managing risk
  • Evaluate deal economics, commercial terms and conditions, operational requirements and non-standard structuring requests
  • Provide guidance to sales and management on the financial implications of terms
  • Team closely with account executives and over time become a knowledge agent for our customer’s key business drivers
  • Work closely with internal departments (Sales, Operations, Legal, Finance, etc) to gain concurrence and drive minimal cycle time
  • In alignment with the sales team, engage with customers to overcome objections and advance the deal·

You will play a pivotal role in Salesloft’s next stage of Enterprise segment revenue growth and market-share gains.

THE TEAM:

Our Salesloft Revenue team is composed of team members who are all aligned on one mission: to redefine the Sales Engagement space and activate the authentic seller in all of us.

The team consists of operations, business, and data analysts with a drive to enable Salesloft to make better decisions. THE SKILL SET:

  • 10+ years of combined experience in deal desk, finance, legal, sales operations, revenue operations, or equivalent roles. Experience in SaaS is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence at a senior level
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with sales and internal departments
  • Strong ability to translate customer needs into Commercial deal constructs that yield a Win/Win outcome
  • High level of deal modeling proficiency (excel/sheets) in support of creative deal structuring
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills with flexibility to work in a fast-paced, changing, and international work environment
  • Ability to work on many deals simultaneously, handling adversarial conversations infirm but calm/diplomatic manner.
  • This role is demanding, involves multiple stakeholders, and requires negotiation and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in Salesforce is preferred

WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU’LL:

  • Attend Salesloft’s New Hire Orientation, where you will learn our Salesloft story and understand what makes our “Lofters” unique
  • Begin 1:1’s with your manager, understand your 30-60-90 plan, and meet & shadow current members of the Salesloft team
  • Review & understand the Company’s current “standard deal terms”
  • Review & understand the product packages & high level value points of our platform
  • Meet key partners in Account Management, Finance, Marketing, Executives etc., as they will be key relationships for you throughout your career
  • Identify ways in which you can establish a presence with the Enterprise sales team (eg: present at a QBR, a sales managers meeting, etc. to develop some self-branding)

WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Become integrated with the Enterprise sales team via participation in forecasting/pipeline review meetings, QBRs, and related deal strategy sessions
  • Be a strategic partner & thought leader on deal construct alternatives
  • Have clearly defined OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and have an action plan to achieve/exceed them
  • Work seamlessly with your colleagues in the Deal Desk & Finance  to ‘shield’ sales from internal nuances
  • Begin to ‘front-end’ legal on most commonly requested business T&Cs

WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Continue to master the mapping of “asks” to “gives” with the Enterprise sales team to fully optimize ARR & minimize risk
  • Continue working towards becoming the invaluable partner to Sales
  • Embrace controlling more of the proactive transaction document editing process prior to reaching legal
  • Continue to focus on your OKRs & work with management to ensure the right trajectory

WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Be considered a key partner to the Enterprise sales team that, without you, it would be exceptionally hard for them to achieve as much success as they do
  • Via interaction with you and the broad experience you bring, elevate the knowledge and effectiveness of the sales team
  • Become the ‘gold standard’ for a Deal Desk Consultant & be willing to mentor more junior Deal Desk members as they build upon their careers
