Job Description

The New York Times is looking for a Program Manager for the NYT Cooking team. NYT Cooking enriches the lives of its users by giving them the recipes, tools and instruction they need to prepare delicious, nourishing meals drawn from every corner of the world.

This role may be based in New York or remotely.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with a cross-functional product development team to define, develop and deliver the most impactful work, making roadmap tradeoffs when needed.

  • Champion agile software development practices and a build-measure-learn mentality that supports innovation, experimentation and iteration.

  • Anticipate and communicate risks and actively remove barriers to progress.

  • Track and report projects’ status on a regular basis to stakeholders.

  • Cultivate a healthy team culture of curiosity, experimentation, collaboration and inclusiveness.

  • 5+ years’ project management experience, ideally with consumer and subscription products

  • Well-versed in applying concepts and techniques from multiple agile approaches

  • Experience shepherding cross-functional product development teams from discovery through execution

  • Proficient in G-Suite, Slack and JIRA, and more
