Position Summary
Drive business growth and strengthen MEPPI’s market presence in the rail and transit industry. In this role, you will build and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers at transit authorities and rail transportation systems manufacturers. Your focus will be identifying new business opportunities, leading regional sales strategies, and positioning MEPPI’s Transportation Systems Division (TSD) products to meet revenue, margin, and market share goals.
What you’ll do
- Prospecting – Identify and pursue new business opportunities with transit and rail authorities not currently utilizing MELCO equipment.
- Relationship-Building – Cultivate strong connections with key technical and commercial decision makers at all levels within target organizations.
- Strategy – Develop and execute regional sales plans that align with divisional objectives for profitability, volume, and market expansion.
- Collaboration – Partner with project management, engineering, legal, and other internal teams to create competitive proposals and win business.
- Representation – Act as the face of MEPPI at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to elevate brand awareness and credibility.
- Expertise – Apply product and market knowledge to formulate winning sales strategies and differentiate MEPPI in a competitive landscape.
- Reporting – Prepare detailed and accurate sales reports, forecasts, and market updates for internal stakeholders.
- Research – Monitor industry trends, publications, and tools to stay informed and uncover emerging opportunities.
- Database Management – Maintain up-to-date market reports, contact databases, and CRM records.
- Professionalism – Uphold MEPPI’s positive, professional image through every customer interaction.
What you’ll bring
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience – Minimum 5 years of experience in sales within the rail transit, transportation, or rail manufacturing industry, or equivalent education and experience.
- Sales Acumen – Advanced knowledge of commercial negotiation and technical sales processes.
- Communication – Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage internal teams and external customers effectively.
- Analysis – Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
- Organization – Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Technology – Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems (e.g., CRM tools).
