The Opportunity

As a Sales Development Representative, you will conduct outreach and conversations with senior executives and decision-makers at prospective TaxJar customer accounts and play a critical role in powering our growth as a company. You will qualify potential clients through a series of qualification criteria, and pass that potential customer to our Account Executive team who will work to convert those customers.

Key Activities

  • Qualify potential customers to ensure they are a good fit to make a decision on and implement a tax compliance solution such as TaxJar
  • Outreach to potential clients about their needs, including helping potential clients understand the need for tax compliance, even where they may not be actively evaluating solutions
  • Help generate new business and pipeline through inbound and outbound activities
  • Work closely with TaxJar Account Executives to drive dealflow and maintain up-to-date information on active deals
  • Work as part of a growing sales team to achieve ambitious activity and sales goals

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • 6+ months of relevant working experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong phone skills
  • Strong business acumen and curiosity about the prospect’s business; ability to convert interest into qualified leads
  • Rapid learner and problem-solver
  • Proven track record of achieving measurable goals
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Collaborative and coachable

Candidates with previous Sales, SaaS, or sales tax experience are highly encouraged to apply.
