As a Senior Data Analyst in the Business Performance organisation, you will be with the Advertising business, Finance and Data & Analytics, with engineers, analysts and data scientists to help accelerate the growth of the Advertising business.
We are searching for a Senior Data Analyst to help build infrastructure and the analytics muscle to unlock a more data-centric approach to decision making and allocation of advertising inventory. You’ll develop a framework on how to allocate our inventory effectively across the business, supply and demand forecast models, customer analysis, experiments, KPI tracking and optimisation tactics, with the ultimate goal of driving growth across the whole business.
You’ll be involved with everything from data source to presentation to the business on how to operationalise the insights. Be it fundamental design of the company’s data model together with Data & Analytics, creating dashboards, or conducting research to answer complex questions. You will become the beacon of quantitative analytics for the Advertising business.
Cooperating with a wide range of product teams from Amsterdam, London, New York and Los Angeles you will be expected to drive organisation-wide projects to improve our analytics capability. This is a great opportunity if you want to explore a career in strategic data science as part of a highly analytical team, while staying in touch with cutting edge cloud technology and exchange ideas with a wide range of data professionals.

What you will be doing:

    • Independently perform analyses and interpret the results
    • Distill complex information into digestible thoughts
    • Communicate analyses and findings to relevant stakeholders
    • Keep a curious and commercial mindset, always striving to understand more about the patterns that we see and excited about testing those theories to learn more and drive our business.
    • Take ownership and keep everyone accountable
    • “Always-on” mentality to challenge the accepted norms

Key Responsibilities

    • Own and drive the inventory management and allocation tactics and strategy
    • Proactively monitor and forecast inventory levels, matching up the supply of inventory with the demand of campaigns sold and cross promotion to drive revenue and user growth across the business
    • Collaborate with the Ad Tech, Data & Analytics and Sales Leadership team to improve the reporting of advertising performance metrics and a strategy for tagging and tracking campaigns.
    • Turn raw advertising data into datasets that enable self-service
    • Be the go-to resource for all advertising data and reporting; you own the selection, set-up, maintenance, and strategic dashboard creation in our visualisation tools.
    • Share your knowledge with the larger advertising department and organization; hold deep dives, learning sessions, and workshops to help ensure we grow to be a more data-driven department.

What you bring to the table:

    • 6+ years in data modeling, analysis, visualisation, tracking requirements, and best practices.
    • The ability to (independently) perform SQL queries (strong requirement) and experience with statistical/data analysis tools (strong preference; preferably Python/R)
    • An experiment mindset, confidence in the power of experimenting/ testing, and having experience with running/analyzing multiple experiments.
    • Having experience with human-generated data (in contrast to data from machines/ systems), i.e. affinity/ understanding of how users use a (digital) product and the type of data this generates
    • An understanding of core statistical concepts and the ability to communicate and even teach these to non-experts

A note on remote
Covid has changed the world. Just as much as it changed us. While we can’t wait until offices re-open, being at the office will not be mandatory in the future. This way, you get the best from both worlds. That move is still pretty new for us though, we are getting there, we are writing more, doing more async communication, and are now ready to take it to the next level.
