Overview
About Wunder
Wunder is building a Modern Energy Company.
We were founded with one simple vision: to address the greatest crisis of our generation by accelerating the deployment of solar energy. In doing so, we help businesses, municipalities, and schools save money by delivering clean on-site power. We convert simple warehouses into electrified industrial platforms built for the future. We enable the nationâs leading commercial and industrial real estate firms to capture the benefits of solar across their properties. We align ESG goals with revenue targets, and the renewable energy assets weâre deploying today will power Americaâs tomorrow.
Wunder currently holds more than $1 billion in solar assets under management and capital commitments. Our team has evaluated more than 10,000 properties for solar across all 50 states. Our average solar system – about 480 kilowatts in size – can offset 350,000 pounds of coal burned each year of system operation!
The Role
We have an amazing opportunity for an energetic, deal-oriented, and experienced solar development professional to solve hard problems and push renewable energy forward. Our solar development team is rapidly acquiring commercial customers and developing solar across the country, and weâre looking for more solar professionals to join our team to meet the needs of our growing national pipeline.
In this role, youâll work in partnership with Wunderâs Account Management team to develop commercial-scale solar projects across the country. Youâll be responsible for managing the entire development process for a portfolio of solar projects, from initial site diligence to NTP and PTO. You’ll go beyond a traditional development role as you will also bring standardization into the untapped sub-megawatt commercial and industrial market by leveraging Wunderâs industry-leading technology platform. If youâre the type of candidate that weâre looking for, your ears just perked up!
If you get excited about unlocking the untapped commercial and industrial market, joining a team designed for hyper-growth, and building an organization aimed at saving the world, then this is the role for you.
About You
- Proven Experience in Solar Development – You have 6+ years of significant experience developing commercial & industrial solar projects in the U.S., preferably in one or more of the following markets: CA, MD, MA, NY, NJ, IL, and CT. You have a successful track record of repeatedly developing and advancing commercial transactions (to NTP or PTO) and are excited about closing C&I transactions at scale.
- Solar Development Expertise – You have extensive knowledge of all aspects of solar development including preparing and submitting interconnection applications, permitting, financing structures, and other issues that impact development of renewable energy projects in the U.S. energy markets. You have a firm grasp on the development process, and know the pitfalls to avoid and the ingredients required for success.
- Youâre Detail-Oriented – Youâre meticulous and take a âzero errorâ approach to problem solving and deliverables. You go the extra mile to ensure all the details to achieve milestones are taken care of on time and on budget in order to close C&I transactions at scale.
- You Have a Numbers Oriented, Quantitative Mind – Youâre comfortable in a spreadsheet and you donât bat an eye when talking about project economics and IRR. You’re well versed in making presentations that require heavy quantitative explanations and love explaining the model youâve been working on to people who might not have the same quantitative caliber.
- You Have a Team Ethos – You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced rapid-growth environment, with people who are passionate about their work and mission. Youâre not just excited to work cross-functionally, you crave it.
- Youâre Flexible, a Quick Responder – The problem weâre trying to solve as an organization is dynamic and each day brings fresh and exciting challenges. You can react quickly and efficiently when called upon to change or pivot.
- You Believe That No Problem is Too Hard – In an industry where people are constantly stuck, we find ways to get it done. You know how to articulate and roll out solutions, recognizing there are many solutions to the same problem. You find new and effective ways to streamline and create processes to increase efficiency.
- Youâre Travel-Friendly – You have the ability to spend time in-person with customers and travel as needed (~10%).
