About you

About the team 

Our Design System is at an exciting inflection point. The design system, components, and documentation we created years ago helped us through significant growth and change. Yet, our scale has outpaced the system, and it’s time to make a deep investment in some big, key improvements to truly make it world-class. You’ll have the opportunity to lead this growing team and the organization into the future by defining the next generation of the system.

We’re looking for a strategically-minded, outcomes-oriented design leader to own and evolve our Design System.

Here’s what success in your role looks like

  • Foster trusted relationships across teams, creating shared roadmaps and vision for driving customer-focused outcomes across an organization
  • Establish product objectives, goals, and strategic plays to inspire teams to execute
  • Design the cultural conditions for company-wide changes to a global brand system, product design language, and operating model
  • Demonstrate continued commitments to increasing team safety and belonging
  • Facilitate manager level training and advocacy of the design system
  • Partner with engineering and UX leaders, helping improve collaboration and drive team effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Coach and develop a growing team while bringing a sense of mission and setting expectations for and driving great performance
  • Be a thoughtful partner in helping UX leadership expand organizational design strategy and vision
  • Create decision making frameworks and programs to govern product and design system excellence within an organization
  • Deliver intuitive products – we value consumer-grade experience quality while solving enterprise problems
  • Build deep domain in multiple product areas and using those insights to drive innovation and help guide the design system priorities
  • Measure and track the impact of the design system on internal teams and external HubSpot customers

This includes being responsible for creating a safe space for feedback, thoughtful team organization, aligning strengths to problems and providing opportunities for career growth through additional responsibility or potential impact

About UX at HubSpot

Our UX team is a passionate and diverse group of ~300 product designers, content designers, researchers, and design ops folks globally who build consumer-grade experiences while solving enterprise-level problems. We’re set up to work as equal partners to our peers in product management and engineering. We design and deliver a crafted experience to our customers by setting a high bar on ease of use. We’re investing deeply in building whole and healthy UX teams across all of our disciplines so we can better solve problems for our customers.

Cash compensation range: 200000-320000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
