HubSpot is looking for a Sr. Director of Engineering to lead and scale our Service Hub. Service Hub is a core pillar of HubSpot’s platform and central to our mission of helping millions of organizations grow better. In this role, you’ll get to:
- Architect and Scale a World-Class Organization:Â You will own the growth, structure, and health of the entire Service Hub engineering team. This isn’t just about hiring; it’s about designing a high-performing, resilient organization built for massive scale and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Shape the Future of a Flagship Product:Â Partnering closely with leaders in Product and UX, you will define and execute a multi-year technical and product strategy. Your vision will directly address critical customer pain points, support enterprise-grade demands, and embed AI-powered intelligence into the core of the user experience.
- Build Foundational Platforms:Â Drive the development of robust, scalable platform services and technical infrastructure that not only power Service Hub but also accelerate innovation and create leverage for teams across HubSpot.
- Cultivate Exceptional Talent and Culture:Â Act as a coach and mentor to your engineering managers and senior engineers. You’ll be responsible for hiring exceptional talent, developing leaders from within, and championing HubSpot’s unique culture of transparency, autonomy, and empathy.
- Drive Cross-Hub Synergy:Â Collaborate with your peers leading Sales, Marketing, CMS, and Commerce Hubs to build a seamlessly integrated customer experience. You’ll ensure Service Hub works harmoniously across the entire customer journey.
- Pioneer AI-Powered Service:Â Be a key thought leader on applying the latest advancements in AI to solve real-world customer service challenges. You’ll translate cutting-edge technology into practical, delightful product capabilities that redefine what it means to support customers.
- Connect Engineering to Business Impact:Â Champion a data-driven culture where success is measured not just by features shipped, but by tangible business outcomes and customer value. You’ll define and track key metrics that align engineering efforts with HubSpot’s most critical goals.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is a Proven Organizational Architect:Â You have 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a significant portion spent in senior leadership roles. You have a clear track record of designing and scaling high-performing, multi-level engineering organizations and a passion for growing other leaders.
- Communicates with Clarity and Influence:Â You are an exceptional communicator, capable of articulating a compelling technical vision to engineers, executives, and cross-functional partners with equal clarity and impact.
- Thinks Strategically and Acts Empirically:Â You are data-driven by default, using metrics to guide decisions and measure success. You possess a growth mindset and can balance long-term strategic planning with agile, iterative execution.
- Is Customer-Obsessed:Â You have a deep-seated empathy for users and an obsession with building products that are not just functional, but delightful. You constantly seek to understand the “why” behind customer pain points.
- Is a Lifelong Learner, Especially in AI:Â You have a genuine passion for technology and are actively engaged with the latest trends, particularly in artificial intelligence. You can thoughtfully discuss how new advancements can translate into real customer value.
- Has Relevant Domain Acumen (Bonus):Â While not a strict requirement, prior experience in the CRM, customer support, or enterprise SaaS space will help you hit the ground running.

Cash compensation range:Â 338250-541250 USD Annually
Pay & Benefits
The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
