The Role

We are looking for our next Director of Email Marketing to be a leader within our email marketing department. If you have a proven track record assisting with Email & SMS sales pitches and are a strong leader who demonstrates a passion for coaching and mentoring your team, then this is your perfect match! You will be hands-on in overseeing strategy, driving innovation, and supporting a strong, driven, and talented team to continue developing both their email/digital marketing expertise and leadership skills.

You Will Be

Assisting sales team on audits, decks and pitches for prospective email marketing and SMS clientsMotivating and managing a team of email marketers by guiding email strategy, identifying account opportunities and obstacles, and developing their communication skills
Assisting the Head of Email with mentorship, accountability support, and empowerment for the email department by proactively finding opportunities for growth of our department and following through to get things done
Leading direct reports on foundational skills, including clear communication, expectation setting, rapport building, active listening and conflict de-escalation
Working with direct reports’ clients to collect feedback, articulate value, present strategy and strengthen the relationship
Providing bi-annual performance reviews and customized professional development plans for direct reports
Directly manage 1-2 accounts to stay current on applicable technology, tactics and industry trends
Retaining existing business, while pursuing profitable growth opportunities in assigned clients’ accounts, both in email investments and cross-channel upsells
Communicating directly with clients and internal teams, providing results/recommending actions, and identifying any and all opportunities for growth
Gathering and analyzing data from a variety of sources to make intelligent, informed recommendations and decisions on email marketing plans and investment
Building out strategic email programs and automations while promotion email best practices for clients’ success
Assisting with implementing reporting (monthly/campaign) and testing strategies with other data extraction, reporting, and analytical tools (i.e. Google Analytics

You Must Have

5+ years of email marketing experience; with minimum of 2 year prior staff management with development and mentoring experience
Great leadership capabilities, be a problem solver, a team player and possess the ability to adapt to change
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the knack for problem solving
Proven track record for successfully navigating sales pitches for email marketing and SMS clients
Proven track record of successful project management skills with the ability to hit and exceed deadlines required
The ability to thrive in fast paced team-oriented environments along with the capability to work independently
Experience strategizing and executing comprehensive list segmentation, life cycle drip automations and triggered events within an ESP
A team player with a client-centric mindset and is constantly seeking ways to improve the client experience
At least 5+ years working in CRM / Email marketing with experience in ESPs such as SFMC, Pardot, Listrak, Klaviyo, etc.
Experience with web analytics (Google Analytics, Omniture or similar)
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business preferred
